Premier Division - Round 3 (1st XV)
Quins 1st Grade came out on top, in a lack lustre game that didnt get to any great heights. The team never seemd to get out of 2nd gear but did not enough to secure the win against a well drilled Melbourne team.
The lineout showed a great improvement on the previous week, and the backs showed some signs of breaking the game open - but a lack of intensity was evident in all aspects of play.
Jay Graham opened the scoring with a fine individual effort of sheer pace down the sideline with Quins leading 7-0 at the half. An opportuitist try to Will Morgan after some excellent lead up worj from marty Campbell followed a penalty got the team to a comfortable 17-0 lead with 20 minutes remining. Melbourne then came home strong scoring 2 tries, to provide a very nervous final 10 minutes for Quins - but the team held on for the win.
Best player of the day was #13 John Iosefo.
