Premier Division - Round 11 (1st XV) Match Report
Match Report
After two losses the team came out determined on a wet and miserable Melbourne day. Running into the breeze, the team did well for the first twenty minutes holding Boroondara at bay for ten minutes with only 13 men due to Yellow Cards within thirty seconds of each other. Back with a full complement of players, Boroondara worked good field position to score which was quickly followed by two tries to Quins with Fonz bagging a double - allowing Quins to lead at the half 12-5.
Quins dominated field position for the first twenty minutes but could get no reward for their efforts and the first opportunity Boroondara got in our 22 they capitalised on with a try which was followed quickly by a penalty to give them a 15-12 lead with ten minutes remaining. Quins answered quickly with a penalty to Frog Hammond, and then gained some more field position where some quick recycled ball allowed space on the blind for Matt Vosa to score in the corner, converted by Frog to give Quins a 22-15 lead with five minutes remaining. The team held Boroondara out for the last five minutes to record a tough win.
