The Harlequins seconds had come off two closes losses and were looking for there first win of the season. Both teams had a slow start to the season and seemed fairly evenly matched. Harlequins were the first to scored after Chris Grellis bounce on a loose ball and after a few passes Osea Valetini sprint down the touch line and finally scored under the posts. Sam Auva'a's added the conversion.Later in the first half Harlequins scored another opportunist try with half back Bertran Bofill scoring close to the posts. Auva added the conversion as well a penalty goal so Harlequins lead 17-0 going into the break.

Harlequins showed a much better defensive effort than in previous games. This was lead by the loose forward trio of Blair Ashton, Alex Booth and Auva'a. Souths were keep scoreless for the majority of the game and only score was a penalty try after a series of free kicks close to the line. Hooker Luke McLay had a strong game acting as another loose forward and this combined with a strong team effort meant Harlequins bounced back quickly with a great team try. A great run from Anthony Obubho down the right hand side of the field then set up quick ball which Harlequins switched to the left and Nick Kearton put Valentini over in the corner for his seconds try of the match. Harlequins finally winninng 22-7.
